Alicerabbit's friends & followers, here comes the last volume of the Berrython serie ! 

More non-sense, more sound art, more freaky covers and experimental lost recordings.

In this edition, you will heard early works of That Summer and Rainier Lericolais, fragments of Marine Radiophique (a local radioshow active in the middle of the 1980's), extracts from french TV & radio broadcasts, some experimental electronic records, many recent stuff and a few historical recordings.

Tracks are selected, compiled and mixed in a joyful mess by Rainier Lericolais, ripped in a glorious 320 and provided here with Hi-Res definition covers.

A taste of the Châteauroux Underground : influenced by TG, Psychic TV, Nurse With Wound, Robert Haigh, Berry Traditional Instruments, Concrete Music, Poetry, German Electronica and a touch of Nonsense
Rainier Lericolais compiled this for your pleasure. It's look like the TOUCH Compilations : some experimental stuff between broadcast recordings and some traditional music. But it's not Java or Bali, it's Berry, Center of France, and more precisely the Châteauroux scene which grew in the 80s around Pascal Dauzier (aka La Sonorité Jaune and SJ organisation) and V.-E. Musiques Inventives D'Annecy (MIA) follows Collectif & Cie (1980-2001) as a label, a recording studio & an organization for concerts & festival, now run by Philippe Moënne-Loccoz assisted by Fabien Toppino and Frédéric Miguel. They're also curating each November the MIA / Concerts d'Hiver et d'Aujourd'hui festival in Annecy (subtitled Festival des nouvelles formes musicales et scéniques).
French experimental stuff with some of the 80's underground tape stars at the moment.

A little gem ripped by Rain with Laurie Anderson (exclusive track), The Sex Pistols, Hunters & Collectors, The Residents, Philip Glass, Lemon Kittens, Hugo Weris, Bob Johns, Richard Bone, Jane "It's A Fine Day", Frehel "La Coco", Yann N'Guyen Minh, Disorder, Nini Raviolettte, Wire, Renaldo & The Loaf, Max Almy, Throbbing Gristle, Polyphonic Size, Liquid Liquid & Krisma !
La Fondation is a french art collective, connected to the experimental & post-punk arts. "Haute Tension" (High Voltage) was a TV program broadcasted once a month during 1981 and 1984 on french TV "antenne 2" (in the legendary "Les Enfants du Rock"), which made discover the industrial/experimental/post-punk music and esthetics on France (for example, Lefdup & Lefdup, Loulou & Kiki Picasso, Speedy Graphito, belong many others, made videos for the tracks played on).
"Pest of" was the last emission and Laurie Anderson appeared as a special guest with an exclusive track recorded live.

"Le nom de Lefdup & Lefdup ne vous dira peut-être pas grand chose, pourtant les images et les sons produits par ces deux frères inséparables ont nourri l'imaginaire de beaucoup de par le travail télévisuel qu'ils ont fourni notamment pour l'émission « Haute Tension », diffusée dans le cadre des Enfants du Rock dans la première partie des années 80 (certains ont pu y découvrir pour la première fois des groupes comme Siouxsie & The Banshees, The Residents, PIL, Renaldo & The Loaf, Hunters & Collectors ou encore Laurie Anderson)"

"Voilà, c’était une séquence additive. Les Enfants du rock, c’était toutes les semaines, et « Haute Tension » c’était le bonus qui devait passer tous les mois à peu près. Mine de rien, quand tu y passais, tu avais une visibilité énorme, surtout pour des groupes comme Lucrate Milk ou comme nous, sachant qu’un disque comme celui de Lucrate ne passait dans aucune radio. Il y avait une sorte de disproportion.
Par le biais de « Haute Tension » et Alain Burosse, on a rencontré plein de gens. Phil Gaz, je l’ai rencontré parce qu’Alain passait les vidéos d’Un Département dans « Haute Tension ». Puis il y a eu tout un tas de gens, comme Speedy Graphito ."

Here is the first volume of the compilation released on the SJ Org label runned by Pascal Dauzier from La Sonorité Jaune and eminent member of the Châteauroux Underground as you can see before in the Berrython compilations (first edition, second edition).

Jacno (July-03-1957 / November-06-2009) got his surname from his fondness for Gauloises cigarettes which logo was designed by an artist called Jacno. Founder of Stinky Toys one of the first French punk band. Formed an iconic couple of the French synth-wave together with Elli Medeiros. Went on to producing jobs for Lio, Etienne Daho or Jacques Higelin and released a few solo albums during the 80s and 90s.

Le musicien Denis Quillard, plus connu sous le nom de Jacno, qui avait fondé en 1976 avec Elli Medeiros les Stinky Toys, l'un des tout premiers groupes de la scène punk française, est mort d'un cancer à l'âge de 52 ans, dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi.  
Il rencontre Elli Medeiros au lycée Charlemagne, où il était surnommé "Jacno" en raison de sa consommation effrénée de cigarettes Gauloises, Marcel Jacno étant le nom du graphiste auteur du casque ailé imprimé sur les paquets.
Ils créent ensemble le groupe de rock parisien les Stinky Toys (les Jouets Puants) des fêtards qui interprètent sur scène des chansons de David Bowie, des Stones ou des Who, ainsi que leurs propres compositions. Edité fin 1977 chez Polydor, leur album "Stinky toys" se vend mal et deux ans plus tard Jacno enregistre seul l'instrumental "Rectangle", des mélodies au synthétiseur popularisées par le cinéaste Olivier Assayas qui les intègre à la bande originale de son premier moyen métrage, Copyright (1979).
Puis le duo Elli et Jacno enregistre deux albums, "Tout va sauter" (1980) et "Boomerang" (1982) et participe à la composition de la bande originale du film "Les nuits de la pleine lune" (1984) d'Eric Rohmer, avant de se séparer.
Jacno se consacre ensuite davantage à la production, réalisant des titres ou des albums pour des artistes tels que Pauline Lafont, Lio, Etienne Daho, Daniel Darc ou Jacques Higelin et plus récemment Paul Personne et les Valentins. En tant qu'interprète, il a publié une série d'albums solo dont "T'es loin t'es près" (1988), "Une idée derrière la tête" (1991), "Faux témoin" (1995) et "De la part des anges" (1999).

Agir13 is - I think - the last release under the Entre Rose moniker. We can hear influences of Cabaret Voltaire, Whitehouse, Psychic TV, but in a slow mood. Sound collages, electronic noise, modified voices, belive me it's damned good !
Still in activity with his newest projects Institut Freiberg/Théâtre Freiberg, V-E G will play live in Paris October 15th at La Société des curiosités (Paris, XIe)

Not really what I prefer, but some things interestings. Like French Virgin Prunes in the theatrical intention, but not with the same quality.
"Clair Obscur est fondé en 1981 par Thierry Damerval (basse), Christophe Demarthe (chant) et Nicolas Demarthe (guitare) à Creil dans l’Oise. Plus qu'une recherche mélodique, leur travail s'oriente vers l'atmosphère que peut créer la musique.
La démarche musicale du groupe est immédiatement accueillie avec enthousiasme par le public et par les radios libres nouvellement nées qui sont friandes d'expériences neuves. C'est ainsi qu'en 1982, le magazine Actuel les invite au Cirque d'Hiver de Paris. Deux performers sont intégrés au groupe : Actuel parle de "jeunes barbares cultivés" et de “rock Artaud“. La même année sort la première cassette du groupe."

Kenny Morris was the drummer of Siouxsie& the Banshees from 1977 to 1979. This record, released by the Genesis P'Orridge's Temple Records, is a very literary one, with gentle music and spoken words by French 80's Underground writer Dorothée Lalanne.
Two tracks : the first with Jean-Pierre Baudry (from Marc Seberg), the second is a reading of the french late 19th Century artist Auguste Rodin's Testament

Théâtre commercial is a french band with Antoine Campo, Catherine Rimbaud, Guillaume Loizillon & Jean-Pierre Chalbos. I don't know very much more about them. The cover don't explain anything. I only know that this 11 minutes record is perhaps one of the most intringuing, mysterious and beautiful I've heard when I was 15. Electronic noises, concrete sounds, reverbered voices making a theatrical atmosphere, a little drama for the ears. This little gem here (RS)
