[re-up] LE BERRYTHON : FRAGMENTS OF THE CHÂTEAUROUX UNDERGROUND (1983-2009)
A taste of the Châteauroux Underground : influenced by TG, Psychic TV, Nurse With Wound, Robert Haigh, Berry Traditional Instruments, Concrete Music, Poetry, German Electronica and a touch of NonsenseRainier Lericolais compiled this for your pleasure. It's look like the TOUCH Compilations : some experimental stuff between broadcast recordings and some traditional music. But it's not Java or Bali, it's Berry, Center of France, and more precisely the Châteauroux scene which grew in the 80s around Pascal Dauzier (aka La Sonorité Jaune and SJ organisation) and V.-E. Guitter. More info here
If you love me, you'll love it ! Download and enjoy : it's highly recommended ! (and for the fans : I'm involved in some tracks!)

APNÉ - CLIMATS OUVERTS (NANTES 06/05 TO 08/16)
exhibition at Lieu Unique, NantesDuring this Summer occurs in Nantes & Saint-Nazaire, Britanny, France, the Biennale de l'Estuaire.
APNE is a group of artists and students of the Nantes's Fine Arts School, leaded by Michel Aubry and David Legrand, who works on the creation of a new Fine Arts School : new in the pedagogic methods and the building. Their reflexion is centred on the charactere of Eric Von Stroheim's ghost (played by David Legrand) who appears in our time and discusses about the art of today.
Last year, APNE created a "Musique Concrete" Light Opera (music composed by Rainier Lericolais). This year, they convite the audience to assist at the shooting of the last scenes of the movie "La Visite des Écoles d'art" during June. In July, the movie will be shown in his intregality (5 hours), all days at the Art Center Lieu Unique.

JOHN ARMLEDER/MICHEL AUBRY/LA GALERIE DU CARTABLE - TARBES
Armelder's Wall Paintings
Armleder's paintings/Aubry's scupture
Aubry's Melnikov's KioskFrom Feb. 5th to April 4th,in the art center "Le Parvis", located in Tarbes (South-West of France), you can see the exhibition of swiss artist John Armleder and french sculptor and musicologist Michel Aubry, curated by Jean-François Dumont, an under-estimated curator and ex-director of the Decimus Magnus galery in Bordeaux.
Amleder reactivated the exhibition he made in the same place 10 years ago ("Wall Paintings 1967-1997"). Aubry re-built - with his own style - a part of the 1925 Melnikov's Pavilion of the USSR at International Exhibition of
Arts and Crafts in Paris and the Fratellini's dressing room as described by Rodchenko.
"La galerie du cartable"(David Legrand, Fabrice Cotinat and Henrique Martins-Duarte) was invited to write and shoot a movie with Armleder and Aubry, but also with the ghosts of Erich Von Stroheim and Rodchenko, talking about the exhibition, the meanings inducted by the repetition and reenactment on their own practices.
This movie is in the same spirit of other made by la galerie du cartable with Michel Aubry (listed here) and the "Shadows's Dialogues" : poetic, burlesque and controversial.
The movies made by Michel Aubry and some by la galerie du cartable are scheduled at VidéoK.01 in Pau (near Tarbes) until April 11th.

Robbe-Grillet).
The Cultural Center "Le Lieu Unique" (Nantes, west of France) scheduled a serie of events connected to the Nantes'Art School's workshop called "About A New School". This events (exhibition, happennings, live concerts, movies, conferences, film footage...) is called "After Eden" a tribute to A. Robbe-Grillet's movie "Eden and After".
Parmi les moments forts de la programmation, on peut noter la projection des "Dialogues Fictifs" de la galerie du cartable, des films de Michel Aubry et David Legrand, mais aussi d'un concert de Rainier Lericolais.
Some of the schedule's key points are the "The Shadows's Dialogues" by La galerie du cartable (five movies about art & trash), the movies by Michel Aubry and David Legrand and a live concert of Rainier Lericolais, regular Simon Fisher Turner's collaborator).
(by the way, these three guys are old time friends of mine and I use to work with them)
But the climax is the one-shot "Concrete Music Operetta", a musical where the ghost of Erich Von Stroheim meets Michelangelo, André Malraux, his own puppet and listen to TG ! (If I am lucky, perhaps I'll play the music with Rainier !)
