Here is the first volume of the compilation released on the SJ Org label runned by Pascal Dauzier from La Sonorité Jaune and eminent member of the Châteauroux Underground as you can see before in the Berrython compilations (first edition, second edition).

Video made by a young fan later named Jhonn Balance with Peter Christopherson. Filmed from the stage in the 1983 gig in Bologna, Italy. The song is powerful and creepy, the video is as insane you can expect.

First track is an excellent dancefloor-oriented remix of "Baby Turns Blue" from the LP "...If I Die, I Die", produced by Wire's Colin Newman. I always liked the Virgin Prunes and I wonder why they're not shared more on the net... I never saw them as the grandfathers of the Goth Rock, more like an outgrowth of the punk/post-punk wave, close to the industrial bands (Gavin Friday, the lead singer, works with Dave Ball, Genesis P'Orridge and Coil, Balance & Christopherson made a video for them). They are the best irish band of the era and their concerts are legendary by their insanity.(VP's MySpace)

"Maudite soit la guerre", proclame le monument aux morts de Gentioux, dans la Creuse, rendez-vous traditionnel des pacifistes dénonçant l'absurdité des guerres à l'occasion de la cérémonie du 11 novembre.
Erigé en 1922 à l'initiative d'un maire qui avait été gazé dans les tranchées, le monument de Gentioux, un village perché sur le plateau de Millevaches, doit réunir mercredi, comme chaque année depuis 1988, des opposants à toute forme de guerre, après la cérémonie patriotique traditionnelle organisée par la mairie.
La statue de bronze représente un enfant en blouse et sabots brandissant un poing serré vers la stèle où l'on peut lire sous les noms des morts: "maudite soit la guerre".
"Le monument de Gentioux est, par sa sobriété, particulièrement explicite", considère Régis Parayre, qui anime la fédération creusoise de la Libre pensée à l'origine de la manifestation pacifiste.
Ce monument atypique n'a jamais été inauguré officiellement en raison de l'inscription stigmatisant la guerre.
Un préfet de la Creuse avait en 1989 proposé de l'inaugurer mais exigeait que la phrase soit recouverte d'une plaque "Gloire aux enfants de Gentioux morts pour la France". Ce que le conseil municipal refusa. La petite histoire raconte également que les soldats du camp militaire voisin de La Courtine avaient ordre de détourner la tête lorsqu'ils passaient devant le monument.
L'enfant aux sabots de Gentioux est cependant inscrit depuis 1989 à l'inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques au titre des lieux de mémoire. Il reste pour la Creuse un symbole fort de ce que fut la Première guerre mondiale: avec 11.000 morts pour 56.000 mobilisés, le département a payé un lourd tribut.
Quelque 200 pacifistes sont attendus mercredi à l'appel de la Fédération de la libre pensée, du Mouvement pour la paix, de l'Union pacifiste, de la Ligue des droits de l'homme, de la Fédération anarchiste et de l'ARAC (Association républicaine des anciens combattants).
Certaines années, plus d'un millier de personnes sont venues à Gentioux pour dénoncer l'absurdité des guerres.
"Cette année, la Fédération nationale de la libre pensée a opté pour des rassemblements dans toute la France. Nous serons donc bien moins nombreux que d'habitude à Gentioux", explique M. Parayre.
Après la commémoration, les pacifistes devaient se rendre au cimetière de Gentioux fleurir la tombe de Félix Baudy, fusillé pour l'exemple en 1915. Pour M. Parayre, c'est "une façon d'appeler à la réhabilitation de tous les fusillés pour l'exemple, ceux qui refusaient de participer à la grande boucherie". (dépêche AFP)

Jacno (July-03-1957 / November-06-2009) got his surname from his fondness for Gauloises cigarettes which logo was designed by an artist called Jacno. Founder of Stinky Toys one of the first French punk band. Formed an iconic couple of the French synth-wave together with Elli Medeiros. Went on to producing jobs for Lio, Etienne Daho or Jacques Higelin and released a few solo albums during the 80s and 90s.

Le musicien Denis Quillard, plus connu sous le nom de Jacno, qui avait fondé en 1976 avec Elli Medeiros les Stinky Toys, l'un des tout premiers groupes de la scène punk française, est mort d'un cancer à l'âge de 52 ans, dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi.
Il rencontre Elli Medeiros au lycée Charlemagne, où il était surnommé "Jacno" en raison de sa consommation effrénée de cigarettes Gauloises, Marcel Jacno étant le nom du graphiste auteur du casque ailé imprimé sur les paquets.
Ils créent ensemble le groupe de rock parisien les Stinky Toys (les Jouets Puants) des fêtards qui interprètent sur scène des chansons de David Bowie, des Stones ou des Who, ainsi que leurs propres compositions. Edité fin 1977 chez Polydor, leur album "Stinky toys" se vend mal et deux ans plus tard Jacno enregistre seul l'instrumental "Rectangle", des mélodies au synthétiseur popularisées par le cinéaste Olivier Assayas qui les intègre à la bande originale de son premier moyen métrage, Copyright (1979).
Puis le duo Elli et Jacno enregistre deux albums, "Tout va sauter" (1980) et "Boomerang" (1982) et participe à la composition de la bande originale du film "Les nuits de la pleine lune" (1984) d'Eric Rohmer, avant de se séparer.
Jacno se consacre ensuite davantage à la production, réalisant des titres ou des albums pour des artistes tels que Pauline Lafont, Lio, Etienne Daho, Daniel Darc ou Jacques Higelin et plus récemment Paul Personne et les Valentins. En tant qu'interprète, il a publié une série d'albums solo dont "T'es loin t'es près" (1988), "Une idée derrière la tête" (1991), "Faux témoin" (1995) et "De la part des anges" (1999).
