LIVE REVIEWS (avril 2008 - part II)

16 avril. Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra + The Berg Sans Nipple. Olympic, Nantes.
Berg Sans Nipple ? Trop jeunes ? Trop systématiques ? Ennui certain.
En revanche Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra, la classe ! 7 musiciens (deux violons, violoncelle, contrebasse, 2 guitares et batterie), tous très présents sur scène. Des clins d'oeil au public, juste ce qu'il faut. Des titres entraînants, d'autres poignants. Parfois un peu agaçant dans les choeurs en canon un peu faux. Trois rappels.

Berg sans nipple : too youngs ? too unexperimented ? too much the same structure. Boredom.
Thee Silver Mt. Zion Orchestra : great ! 7 musicians, strong on stage, some fun with the audience (but not too much), sometimes catchy, but sometimes strident (ach ! the female choir !). Big success.

24 avril. Japanese New Music Festival (Kawabata and friends). Point éphémère, Paris.
5 groupes pour un concert autour de Yoshida Tatsuya et Kawabata Makoto : Akaten (Yoshida-Kawabata), Ruins (Yoshida), Kawabata Solo, Acid Mothers Temple SWR et Zoffy. Un peu trop freak-impro à mon goût, mais Kawabata seul est absolument fabuleux. De bons moments bien bruyants et des oreilles fumantes en sortant. Et comme le dit Clémentine, Kawabata et O'Malley doivent avoir le même coiffeur.

Five bands with Yoshida Tatsuya & Kawabata Makoto (Akaten, Ruins, Kawabata solo, Acid Mother Temple SWR, Zoffy). A big freak show, but too much improv'for me, even if Kawabata solo is absolutely favbulous ! Good moments powerfull and noisy. And, as Clémentine said, Kawabata and O'Malley may have the same hair-dresser.
