THE VITAMIN B12 - RAFT122 (2002)

Raft Recordings - Vinyl, 7"
Vitamin B12 aka Alasdair Willis (who played saxophone on " Juice Head Crazy Lady" in the Nurse With Wound's Huffin' Rag Blues) delivered with this 7" a "musique concrete" variation of the techno age. Good and simple.

Tracklist
A - 68 X 32
B - System Mix
"The Vitamin B12 is Alasdair Willis. Reclusive Brighton based author of contemporary surrealist artifacts. This single was commissioned for Rafts instrumental series, specifically with the 7" medium in mind.
The two pieces are vastly contrasting and perhaps some small clue to their aesthetic may be placed within the titles themselves...
68 x 32 is a Musique Concrete assemblage so therefore must be art, and as such it can only be judged by posterity, no one yet can really say what the record is like.
System Six is a melodic composition for tuned percussion sounds, with a surprisingly liberating, yet oddly mind-bending ascending motif, which calls on the infinite resources that can be gleaned from careful application of the laws of repetition, that can be gleaned from careful application of the laws of repetition laws of repetition of repetition. This record exists precisely because it was made to be." - Raft.

VA - HAUTE TENSION 'PEST OF' - LA FONDATION (1984)

A little gem ripped by Rain with Laurie Anderson (exclusive track), The Sex Pistols, Hunters & Collectors, The Residents, Philip Glass, Lemon Kittens, Hugo Weris, Bob Johns, Richard Bone, Jane "It's A Fine Day", Frehel "La Coco", Yann N'Guyen Minh, Disorder, Nini Raviolettte, Wire, Renaldo & The Loaf, Max Almy, Throbbing Gristle, Polyphonic Size, Liquid Liquid & Krisma !
La Fondation is a french art collective, connected to the experimental & post-punk arts. "Haute Tension" (High Voltage) was a TV program broadcasted once a month during 1981 and 1984 on french TV "antenne 2" (in the legendary "Les Enfants du Rock"), which made discover the industrial/experimental/post-punk music and esthetics on France (for example, Lefdup & Lefdup, Loulou & Kiki Picasso, Speedy Graphito, belong many others, made videos for the tracks played on).
"Pest of" was the last emission and Laurie Anderson appeared as a special guest with an exclusive track recorded live.
You can see the broadcast on alain burosse's website.
And get the ripped of the tape here : 320/RAR/MU

Haute Tension, Les Enfants du Rock, Antenne 2 , mensuel 1981-1984
prod : La Fondation (Michel Eli, Bertrand Merinos-Péris, Alain Burosse)
Real : Mathias Ledoux, Olivier Baudoin, Stéphane Teichner
20 émissions : experimentations vidéos et avant-garde rock art video post-punk
Extract of a Lefdup interview
